Did you know that racially diverse teams outperform non-diverse teams by 35% or that teams where men and women are equal earn 41% more revenue? Diversity isn't just something you should consider when growing your business; it will cause your business to grow. Join Tech Talent South for our Diversity in Tech Panel where we will explore how to promote, create and sustain diversity in the workplace. Featuring:  Sabrina Short, Executive Creative Director of Short Speaks Creative & Founder of NOLAVATE BlackSabrina Short is the Executive Creative Director of Short Speaks Creative, a digital communications firm. She is also the Founder of NOLAVATE Black, the first New Orleans Black Tech Network. She is known as the “Great Connector” because of her unwavering passion for community and social justice. A native New Orleanian, Sabrina moved home post-hurricane Katrina as a community organizer to participate in the city's recovery efforts. She has over 19 years of experience in non-profit management, fundraising, and program development. She has been recognized locally and nationally for youth-led education and health initiatives in New Orleans, including being selected as a New Orleans delegate to share best practices for grassroots organizing and strategic outreach after manmade and natural disasters for the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy. Short Speaks Creative has provided creative direction and digital media services for Different Drummer, National Geographic, Fox Studios, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Discipleship Ministries. Staying true to her mission to bring people together, Sabrina's projects have allowed her to offer freelance opportunities to creatives of color and minority-owned businesses in the city. Sabrina raises awareness around diversity and inclusion through her NOLAVATE Black Initiative, Sabrina strives to explore ways to support the local tech ecosystem, including spearheading the NOLAVATE Conference in July 2018, the first Black Tech conference focused on inclusive innovation during the Essence Festival.
