New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival 2019 - Day 2

The 4th Annual New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival is a celebration of the art, music and cultural importance of handmade stringed instruments.  Covering 4 days and 3 venues, the festival is widely considered to be the world's premier CBG event.   This ticket for Day 2 entitles the purchaser to attend the Thursday Evening Symposium, a program led by John McCusker.   The presentation, at Frenchmen Theatre, will center on the use of handmade instruments by the individuals and bands that performed around New Orleans during the birth and early years of Jazz. McCusker is a lifelong photojournalist for the Times-Picayune and The Advocate,  He has documented the people and places that gave New Orleans one of it's nicknames, The Cradle of Jazz.  McCusker is also the author of Creole Trombone: Kid Ory and the Early Years of Jazz, the first definitive biography of trombonist (and cigar box banjo player!) Kid Ory. For more information:
